Vietnam’s innovation ecosystem is entering a new chapter. It shows how Vietnam’s startup and innovation ecosystem is evolving into a stronger, more connected network – driven by founders, universities, technology companies, investment funds, communities, policymakers, and global partners growing together.
Vietnam’s Momentum Is Becoming Increasingly Visible
According to this year’s Global Startup Ecosystem Index report by StartupBlink, Vietnam officially entered the Top 50 Global Startup Ecosystems for the first time, climbing 5 places in the global rankings.

The report evaluates around 100 countries and more than 1,500 cities based on ecosystem quantity, quality, and business environment.
Ho Chi Minh City entered the Top 100 startup cities globally for the first time. Hanoi rose 30 places. Da Nang recorded one of the most remarkable jumps in the world, rising 212 places globally. Hai Phong also entered the Top 1,000 global startup ecosystems for the first time.

The report also highlights the scale and potential of Vietnam’s ecosystem today:
- More than 4,000 startups, 208 investment funds, and 84 incubators nationwide
- Ecosystem value reaching 75.1 billion USD, ranking second in Southeast Asia after Singapore
At the same time, Vietnam and Thailand were recognized as the two Southeast Asian countries achieving ecosystem growth rates of more than 67%.
Beyond the numbers, there is also a visible shift in mindset and infrastructure:
- More startup-friendly policies
- Increasing openness to technology and digital transformation
- Stronger international collaboration
- Growing support for AI, fintech, blockchain, and innovation ecosystems
Especially in Da Nang, the city has been actively positioning itself as a hub for technology, innovation, and digital transformation through infrastructure investment, international forums, startup support programs, and global partnerships.
